 Britney Spears Was Inspiration For Gwyneth Paltrow For ‘Country Strong’

Something tells me Britney Spears will take this story about as well as Lindsay Lohan took Gwyneth Paltrow’s mocking of her on ‘Glee.’ Anyway, according to Fox News’ Pop Tarts, Gwyneth’s character was partly inspired by Britney’s very public problems for Gwyneth’s character’s comeback in her new movie, ‘Country Strong.’

“You see a lot of these themes in real life, while I was writing the script a lot of those things that were happening with Britney Spears were very public,” writer/director Shana Feste revealed to FOX411’s Pop Tarts. “She was shaving her head, and I saw how fixated we are as a society in building people up to see their downfall and then the pleasure we take in building them up again.

Gwyneth herself said that she turned to her friend, singer Beyonce, for advice about performing.

“I picked the brains of my girl singer friends more.  I obsessively watched Beyonce perform, she is ‘it’ in terms of a performer – if I could just get a little bit of that abandon she has on stage, that’s what I was really focusing on,” Paltrow explained.

And actually, Gwyneth’s public persona is so different from Britney’s that the film studio president initially balked at the thought of Gwyneth taking the part!

“He thought everyone was so crazy because I was so wrong,” she said. ‘When you think ‘country superstar drink addict’ maybe you don’t think of me, but it’s in there… I haven’t been macrobiotic for a long time now, drinking country singer is much closer to the real me!”

OK, Gwyneth. Something tells me there’s a BIG difference between eating a macrobiotic diet and alcoholism- LOL.

Gwyneth Paltrow sounds like she was pretty fun to work with on the set of ‘Country Strong’! According to US Weekly, the actress really got into character during filming, by basically being drunk all the time!

Gwyneth Paltrow appeared on the Rachael Ray show and said;

“You just get really drunk all the time. Which is awesome!”
“At least I did anyway, it’s not very professional,”
“There’s a Bloody Mary at 10 a.m. and keep it going all day!”

Wow, she’s a better woman that I am to be able to do that and work! Gwyneth Paltrow certainly has been making the publicity rounds, trying to drum up buzz for this movie, and I think its working! It definitely is on my wish list of movies to see now. Country Strong opens this weekend, do you think you’ll go see it?

Gwyneth Paltrow is out promoting her new flick “Country Strong” and took some time to sit down with Rachael Ray to dish about her children, Oscars, and her best movie co-star kiss.
On her which of her male co-stars is the best kisser:

I did a little cameo once at the beginning of “Austin Powers 3” I think it was, and I got to make out with Tom Cruise. He was an amazing kisser!

She shares what her kids, Moses and Apple, got for Christmas:

“A lot of Ben 10 for my son, a lot of Transformers, puzzles, Power Rangers. My daughter is all Calico Critters. Do you know these things? They’re like these little family of animals and they have a little family of hedgehogs, there’s a family of rabbits. You know, there’s all this stuff that comes with it. She’s obsessed with them! I have to say, my son is like finding the iPhone and finding Mario Brothers on the iPhone and I’m just worried that he’s going to be like a gamer and I’ll never get him to talk to me!”

On her kids’ personalities:

My son is really shy, but he sings all day long. But really quietly. And my daughter, she’s sort of more chatty and she’s really funny and she’s a great story teller. And they’re both very musical, they love music. They’re really into pop music, like top 40. They’re always singing Dynamite, all the time!

Rachael Ray asks her if she’d consider putting out an album and singing at the Oscars:

The answer is, I really don’t know. I’ve had such an incredible time doing this singing and it’s been so great, I don’t know how I would do it. I am definitely thinking about it, but I haven’t saddled on how I would do it.

RR: Would you be comfortable doing a big performance at the Oscars?

Maybe with some Xanax! I’ve learned never to say never at this point in my career. If you told me that I would’ve been playing the Country Music Awards, I would have said never.

‘Country Strong‘ star Gwyneth Paltrow did a special for the E! channel, and in it she talked about her high-profile romances with Brad Pitt and Ben Affleck. (Check out the pictures of Gwyneth with Brad and Ben alone: brings back memories!)

“It was strange to be part of a public couple,” she says in the interview.

I bet that’s at least part of the reason why we very rarely see Gwyneth with her husband, Chris Martin.
Gwyneth also said it wasn’t as easy making it in Hollywood as some people may think, despite being the daughter of Bruce Paltrow and Blythe Danner.

“We could have paid for everything and had a spoiled kid,” mother Danner says. “[But] I think it’s really important for people to work hard.”

Paltrow admits: “I would say ‘Dad, I can’t go out to dinner, I have no money,’ and he would say ‘you’re welcome to come over here and eat at our house anytime, but I’m not giving you money for your social life.’”

That must be at least partly why Gwyneth is so grounded .

Last night, INO posted pictures of Gwyneth Paltrow receiving her ‘Hollywood Walk of Fame’ star. It’s about time the actress claimed her spot!! This morning we finally received a quote of what she said during her acceptance speech.

“I’m proud my grandchildren can one day come and see my name on the sidewalk. “I think I am going to get in the car and burst into tears. It just means so much to me to see all the people that I really love, and who have been supportive of me forever. I feel so honored I can’t believe it. “This city is so much a part of my heart and soul. I don’t think I would be here were it not for my family and friends.”

Aw – that’s nice to hear. I’m sure her children don’t really understand how special a ‘Hollywood Walk of Fame’ star really is, but in a few years they will. (imnotobsessed)

Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics- Pressed Eyeshadow Quad (Vintage)

Eye shadows in mauve-eggplant-pink colors can be a little tricky, because the wrong shade in this range can make the eyelid look bruised. There needs to be just enough red pigment in the base but not much to appear weird, and the right combination of colors varies from face to face.

Vintage is one of seven pressed eye shadow quads offered by Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics. Some of the colors in the quads (Bordeaux and Merlot, in this case) are also available as singles, while others are exclusive to the palettes. Vintage, with its range of soft weather-washed mauves, is my favorite collection of these colors and the most flattering for my skin tone I've come across in a long time.

The pigments are very rich,  so a soft brush and a light hand can achieve a lot of depth. The texture is very smooth, soft and blendable. The colors are matte and have a muted finish which I really like. I've been using the quad over various lid primers with perfect lasting results- the eye shadows stay in place and still look fresh by the end of the day.

The one color in this Youngblood quad that doesn't work for me is Blush, the pink one. It's too pink and too dominant to serve as a highlighter under the brow bone, and has too much red in its base to be worn anywhere else. So I need a single highlighter/base color whenever I'm using the other eye shadows here, which makes it less efficient for me to use on the go but is perfectly fine at home.

Bottom Line: Pretty.

Amanda Seyfried And Gwyneth Paltrow Show Long Zippers

The exposed zipper as a design element is nothing new. Back in 1984 I had a skirt in a Norma Kamali-like poly-jersey with a similar zipper in the front. Maybe that's why I like these dresses. They simply look fun (and let's face it: Amanda Seyfried can do no wrong even in purple satin with a grey back. Don't try it at home). Gwyneth Paltrow has a more sophisticated version from the Victoria Beckham  Collection (indeed!) and shoes to die for (Georgina Goodman Leon Love sandals).

Les Regards de Chanel Eye Palette Les Bruns

A great palette needs to answer two major needs: 1) the colors must go perfectly with each other, 2) it should be small enough to fit in a small purse or a clutch. Chanel took it up another notch in Les Regards de Chanel Eye Palette Les Bruns by also providing two eyebrow colors, though I'm not sure who needs two of those- you can either wear one or the other for that purpose, so the concept is somewhat flawed.

The plastic insert states the purpose of every pan in the palette, thus trying to claim these are several different products (an eyeliner, a highlighter, eye shadows and brow fillers). This is somewhat misleading because while definitely suitable for these tasks, all six colors are eye shadows in pressed powder form. Some are matte, thus making them great for brows, some are shimmery so the lightest one is a great highlighting eye shadow, but the texture is almost the same throughout the palette.

These neutral browns are the best ones I've seen since the long gone Bobbi Brown Chocolate eye palette. Since I'm about to hitting pan in a couple of the colors there, Les Regards de Chanel Les Bruns was a welcome addition to my arsenal. It's my weapon on choice when I have to get ready in an ungodly morning hour, when the husband is impatiently waiting for me so we can go out or when I'm wearing a colorful scarf or a busy print. It's easy, the soft eye shadows blend quickly and seamlessly and the look is more sophisticated and polished than I could achieve otherwise when half asleep.

The eyeliner is better when applied wet or with a fixative solution (I use Paula Dorf's Transformer), so if one is really in a hurry a pencil would be better (I wish they'd included a mini one in the palette). The brow color on the right side is far too light and warm for me- it would probably suit blondes- but I've used it successfully as an eye shadow. It's quite pretty, actually. All these colors need a primer to last from morning to night, but they don't lose intensity, so that's very good.

Bottom line: A reliable workhorse.

Hanging Out

Maybe I'm simply too old fashioned. Or maybe I've been watching too much Mad Men. It's not that I'd ever want to live in 1960s undergarments, but one can't deny they did wonders for women's figures, unlike what we've been seen lately.

When I first saw the paparazzi photos of Gwyneth Paltrow at the airport, I thought it might be a case of a frumpy camisole under some beachwear (and getting dressed in the dark). But pictures taken from the back show that the flesh-colored thing is a bra. Classy.

Blake Lively has skipped the bra altogether. Closeup photos made this absolutely clear. Classier.

And putting Jessica Simpson on a catwalk with no support was an interesting decision. She was modeling for Ozlem Suer in Paris and looked very cute- I definitely prefer High-Fashion Jessica to Country Bumpkin Jess. But a low-plunge bra or some fashion tape would have done her a world of good.

Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse (Multipurpose Dry Oil)

Or: My Mother Knows Best

Last year in Paris I saw the ads for Nuxe products all over the city. I had every intention to check the dry oil which seemed to be in every drugstore/pharmacy (there are two things I envy most about living in France: baked goods and drugstores), but somehow never got to it. I was happy to learn that unlike decent croissants, Nuxe is actually available on our shores from several online retailers. I kept meaning to order the famous Huile but, again, somehow never got around to do it, until my mother, who apparently has been using it for ages, sent me a bottle and a firm order to use it.

And she was right, as always.

While I'm not adventurous enough these days to attempt using the dry oil on my face or hair, as recommended on the bottle, when it comes to my limbs and other body parts this is a fabulous product. Easy to spread and fast absorbing, it's never greasy and won't give you the Gwyneth Paltrow finish. It softens, moisturizers and makes even my cuir de crocodile look and feel normal with no sticky residue, which is especially appreciated in the summer.

The scent is this faint beachy-white floral thing with a hint of clean musk in the drydown. It doesn't project and won't interfere with perfume, as it disappears within 20 minutes or so.

Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Multipurpose Dry Oil ($44 for 100 ml that last a very long time, and be aware that there's also a gold shimmer version, but I'm utterly not responsible if you get that one) is available online from beautyhabit, apothica and beauty.com. Breast Cancer Awareness Month: Karl Lagerfeld For Saks

This might be my favorite special product for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Karl Lagerfeld designed this t-shirt for Saks 5th Avenue. It's quirky enough, with a portrait of Karl himself on the back, and thankfully, not pink.

The shirts are sold online and in store for $40, out of which $35 go to the Entertainment Industry Foundation's Women's Cancer Research Fund.

Another bad case of the 80s

Liv Tyler is so gorgeous she can get away with everything. Almost. It could have been worse, I guess. She could have paired this reject from my 80s closet with a matching pair of godawful leggings, so we should be thankful for only being subjected to this sweater dress.

Now to something completely different from the same event (the NYC premier of Iron Man). I would have liked Gwyneth Paltrow's dress a lot better without all the armpit cleavage. And, am I the only one who sees a creepy face in the cut-out pattern?

Beyonce and Jay-Z Are Married

After rumors and speculation, Jay-Z and Beyonce have tied the knot. While there's no official confirmation, sources have reported that the twosome wed in an intimate, extravagant ceremony in Tribeca, New York City. The ceremony was followed by a posh party at Jay-Z's Manhattan home. Guests included Beyonce's family, her Destiny's Child pals, and Gwyneth Paltrow.

Gwyneth's ailment

Gwyneth Paltrow was taken to New York's Mount Sinai Hospital Monday for "a little gastrointestinal situation," her pal chef Mario Batali confirmed. "It's now been straightened out," he said at the grand opening of The Palazzo Hotel in Las Vegas Thursday. "She's [doing] great." In three weeks, he said they're going to Majorca, Spain, and then Valencia, Spain, to shoot a PBS cooking show, set to air in October. The news of Paltrow's hospitalization broke on Monday. "She was slumped over in a wheelchair pushed by [husband] Chris Martin," an eyewitness told Us. "She looked not well." On Tuesday, her rep issued a statement, saying, "She is at home and OK."

Chris Martin in photog scuffle

In a video captured by TMZ.com, Coldplay lead singer Chris Martin can be seen attacking a photographer. In the video Martin and wife Gwyneth Paltrow are seen leaving a hospital. After the photographer snaps a couple shots, Martin jumps on the man, pushes him to the ground and tries to make off with his camera, all while yelling, “Have some respect!” At this point the photographer gets up and struggles to get his equipment back. Martin tries to make an escape in his SUV, but the cameraman can be heard threatening to break the vehicle’s door if the equipment is not returned. There’s no official word on why the famous couple were at the hospital.

Gwyneth admitted to hospital

Gwyneth Paltrow was admitted to New York's Mount Sinai Hospital yesterday afternoon. "She was slumped over in a wheelchair pushed by [husband] Chris Martin," an eyewitness said. "She looked not well." At 6:30 p.m., a bag — labeled "Gwyneth Martin" — from NYC organic home supply store Organics Avenue, and a white pillow, were delivered. A source says she and Martin were spending the night. The reason for the hospitalization is unknown. Her rep said, "We are not commenting as it's a personal matter."

Is Gwyneth Paltrow a real life Gossip Girl? "There's obviously an appetite for gossip," she told Britain's Daily Mail Weekend Magazine. "It's very addictive to see what people are doing and wearing and saying – and who is breaking up." The actress went on to describe the outrage of an unnamed friend who had been dating another celebrity and read an inaccurate item about the romance in a New York tabloid. "Then he turned the page of the same newspaper and said, 'My God, have you seen who's together?'" she told the magazine. "So we're all at it, aren't we?" But Paltrow, 35, is quick to quash rumors of any trouble in her marriage to Coldplay's Chris Martin. Although they are rarely photographed out and about, she explained, "We're not into doing stuff in public together." Away from the cameras though, she insisted, it's a different story. "I love the house," Paltrow said of the North London home the couple bought from fellow actress Kate Winslet and her husband, director Sam Mendes. Paltrow – mother to daughter Apple, 3, and son Moses, 1 – also admitted she's thinking of expanding her family. In four years, she dreams of having "two-in-a-row, really quick again," while Martin would like to adopt. So which will it be? The actress, who recently finished filming The Good Night with her brother Jake, told the Mail, "I'm open to anything."

It's the little things

I'm not a fan of anything extreme in makeup, crazy eyebrows included. But you can't deny that darker, more defined eyebrows are an important trend this season and there are ways to do it right without becoming unrecognizable to anyone but our mothers, like Gwyneth Paltrow (from a photo spread for W magazine). Or clownish, like Sienna Miller.

My eyebrows are very very dark brown, but not black, which is why I'd avoid using black for eyebrows, unless this is really your natural color. Instead, I discovered that Bobbi Brown Espresso eye shadow is an excellent choice. It's darker than my actual color and makes them stand out just enough to get the elegant and polished look, without channeling Dita von Teese just before a show where she's about to take most of her clothes off.

The secret to keeping the well-defined eyebrows to stay put all day is to use the miraculous Paula Dorf Transformer. Just like you would use it for turning an eye shadow into a long-lasting eye liner: Put a tiny drop on the plastic lid, dip the brush in it and swipe it over the the edge of the shadow pan (don't let the transformer all over the compact) to collect a little color, then paint your eye brow in small, feathery strokes.




The right brush for this endeavour is an angled eye brow brush. Bobbi has one as do many other brands. I had good results with a small angled one from the Sonia Kashuk line for Target. Don't use an eyeliner brush (too thin, requires too many strokes) or a straight, flat brush (the kind you'd use for applying contouring eye shadow to the lash line (too wide strokes, harder to get a natural look).

A Blonde

She might have a penchant for weird baby names, but Gwyneth Paltrow is one of the very few truly fabulous celebs. I like her style and the fact that she's never messy and disheveled.
These pictures are from last Thursday (taken from Hollywood Rag). I love the outfit. She shows that you can wear a mini and still look classy, even if you're over 30 (thank you, Gwyneth). Her shoes are fun and the makeup is very pretty. I'm not too crazy about the lip color, though. If she has any flaw, it's her too thin lips, and such a dark lipstick draws a bit too much attention to them. But, the look still works and she's nothing but lovely.
