Christina Aplegata still Hot at 40

hot and sexy christina applegata, hot christina applegata wallpapers and photos, hot christina applegata in bikini, hot christina applegata boobs/breastsWe've been big Christina Applegate fans here at The Fan Carpet since her feisty yet endearing performance as Sue Ellen in the 1991 cult-classic Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead.

Can you believe that was 10 years ago? (once again, we feel old) but perhaps not as old as she does.. as the Samantha Who star turned 39 yesterday (November 25th).

She certainly doesn't look it, but yet if we consider everything she's been through thus far, we are actually surprised at just how young she is!

The actress really has been through it all, she won an Emmy Award in 2003, divorced her husband in 2005, won a Tony in 2006 and was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2008.

Christina has had a steady career spanning almost 30 years and we are only going to see more of her. Next up she stars in Hall Pass alongside Owen Wilson and Alyssa Milano due in UK cinemas March 2011.

.. Oh, and did you know she was one of the founding members of the Pussycat Dolls, which debuted at Johnny Depp's Viper Room on the Sunset Strip in 1995?

Talking of the Viper Room, she was there the night River Phoenix collapsed and witnessed the seizure that eventually lead to his death in 1993.

Christina is currently engaged to Martyn Lenoble, a Dutch bass player is expecting her first child in December.

So it seems this actress has in fact done one hell of a lot for only 40, so we take our hat off to her achievements and look forward to seeing much much more. Happy Birthday Christina!

Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Fabulous, fierce, and fearless, these ladies lend their well-known faces to the battle against breast cancer. Their inspirational stories of courage and survival remind us to never stop fighting for a cure. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. See the other brave stars who inspire.

Emmy Buzz

Lindsay and Samantha get cozy with TV Guide.

Tina Fey wins big (3 awards), but loses her purse.

Host Heidi Klum changed 9 different times throughout the show!

Josh Groban should have won an award for best "marathon" performance with his medley of classic theme songs. My favorite - His rendition of The Fresh Prince of Belair!

And how may you ask was he able to pull this off? "A lot of rehearsal and a lot of coffee."

Christina Applegate made a smashing red carpet appearance.

Which housewife looked the best?

Lauren Conrad wore one of her own. (and looked good doing it!)

Emmys 2008 Dresses And Makeup Highlights

As always, watching the Red Carpet Shoe makes me wish the entire E! team would be fired and replaced. Preferably by mimes. But we're not here to discuss Giuliana Rancic and her vocabulary, are we?

It's always a bit weird: The stars are in full evening wear, all blinged and hair-sprayed out, but since the red carper arrivals are happening at 3-5 PM L.A. time, we see them in harsh daylight and it's probably a bit too hot for them to really feel comfortable. Sometimes it shows:

A more streamlined yellow dress was the one Mariska Hargitay was wearing. I love her, just not sure about the Sarah Palin hair:

Colorful dresses tend to steal the show and seem somehow more right at that time of the afternoon. There were several light aqua/sea foam colored dresses, as you can see on Jenna Fischer (Gustavo Cadile), Christina Applegate (Reem Acra) and Cynthia Nixon (Calvin Klein):

I like Brooke Shields too much to question the 80s glam of her dress (Badgley Mischka ):

Eva Longoria Parker was the most visible star who went with a short dress (Marchesa). Usually I dislike big bows on short women, but here it works, somehow:

I usually wait with the makeup recap until the day after, but since we're speaking of Eva I must comment on this so two years ago look, especially since I didn't like it in 2006, either. Too much black around the eyes, lips that are at least a shade too pale than healthy and the too-peachy blush that should have been named after J. Lo. I wish Eva would hire a new makeup artist, preferably of the Bobbi Brown school of thought.

Now, let's look at some black dresses, because you can't get more Hollywood than that. Debra Messing is gorgeous, but the dress (Monique Lhuillier), while pretty, seems a bit too much. It's a lot of goth drama for a hot L.A. night. And Kate Walsh is pulling off something most of us wouldn't (and shouldn't) attempt: horizontal stripes.

The next one isn't actually black, though it looked so in most photos and when I saw her briefly during the arrivals (I'm another one of those who didn't even consider watching the actual ceremony). I think Hayden Panetierre got it right with her midnight blue dress. Not many 18 year olds can look as polished and glamorous as this:

My favorite dress of the night- Heidi Klum in Armani Prive:

Cancer-Free Christina : )

Christina Applegate is 100% clear of cancer! The Samantha Who actress had a double mastectomy three weeks ago to completely kill the disease. Her reasoning, she tested positive for the breast cancer gene BRCA1. Appearing on Good Morning America this morning, she described her emotions as this, "Sometimes I cry. Sometimes I scream, and I get really angry and I get really into wallowing in self-pity sometimes, and I think it’s all part of healing."

She will be going through reconstructive surgery for the next eight months in which she says, "I'm gonna have cute boobs till I'm 90."

PEOPLE's Most Beautiful

PEOPLE has just named their 100 Most Beautiful people.

And who is the lovely lady topping the list and gracing the cover?

"I was a tomboy. I had three brothers. I was the girl with the dress on that always came back in the house filthy with scrapes and bruises. But I was always very girly. I had to be able to twirl so that my underwear showed." - Kate Hudson (Love her!)

A few others that made the mag's coveted cut:

Borat's leading lady Isla Fisher

Samantha Who's Christina Applegate

Country girl Carrie Underwood

High schooler Vanessa Hudgens

One of PEOPLE's Most Beautiful couples, Eva Longoria and Tony Parker. Tony says he likes his wife "best in jeans, a T-shirt and Hugs." Eva's translation, "He means Uggs." Ha, how cute!

SAG Awards Hair & Makeup

The good news: the smoky eye look seems to be on its way out (I have nothing against the idea of a smoky eye, but what you see on the red carpet is usually lost in translation once you encounter it face to face in the East Village or the Jersey malls). Faces looked fresh, eyes reasonably (unless you're Lisa Rinna) accentuated with black eyeliner and mascara, matte skin, neutral (but usually not beige, except for Eva Longoria who should have gone a couple of shades darker) lips, very little shimmer and no more goopy Paris Hilton mouths.

Christina Applegate's makeup stood out, and not necessarily in her favor. I was happy to see a bolder lip color, but that shimmer all around her eyes looked weird (click on the image to see what I'm talking about).

Teri Hatcher seems as always to have a little more eye makeup than most. And since I didn't have it last night, here's also a picture of her dress:

The bad news is that almost everyone looked like they had their hair and makeup done by the same people. Other than a few actresses (Debra Messing, Marcia Cross, Angelina Jolie) the ruling hairstyle was the soft, messy updo. The weather didn't help things. It rained in L.A during the day and made for a soggy red carpet and frizzy hair.

Another thing of note is the absence of necklaces. Instead, everyone seems to have opted for long, dangling earrings. there were also some pretty bracelets.

An overview of the dresses is in last night's post.

SAG Awards- The Red Carpet Show

What do we have so far?

Six blue dresses (Marcia Cross, Andrea Bowen, Amanda Bynes, Nikki Blonski, Jenna Fischer, Kyra Sedgwick), two yellow dresses (Vanessa Williams, Kate Beckinsale), two florals (Teri Hatcher in Badgley Mischka, Cate Blanchett in a stunning Balenciaga) and a Seacrest-less crew that looks as uncomfortable without him as I am watching them conducting the most embarrassing red carpet coverage I've ever watched.

Other than lots of blue, metallic seems to be the order of the day, from platinum (Christina Applegate in Elie Saab) to gold (Debra Messing, in an Oscar De La Renta dress that was better in theory than in real life with all that armpit cleavage).

Little black dresses seem to be making a comeback (were they ever really out?) on Tina Fey in Alberta Ferretti and Ellen Page in Zac Posen, two of the most likable and eloquent actresses on the red carpet.

As far as hair goes, lots of soft, messy updos with long bangs. It's everywhere to a point where Debra Messing and her flowing open curls seem innovative. Or dated. I have yet to decide.

(Did I just hear Teri Hatcher and her unmoving forehead declaring she doesn't believe in Botox?)

From the look of Angelina Jolie's dress it seems like the pregnancy rumours might be true. I hope so, actually. Otherwise there's no excuse for all that tie-dye fabric. There's definitely enough room for twins in there.

There were few really dramatic dresses. Eva Longoria in Naeem Khan and Ellen Pompeo in Nina Ricci did the Old Hollywood thing successfully. Sandra Oh, on the other hand, not so much.

And Lisa Rinna is Little Miss Tacky:
Hair and makeup in the next post.
