Scarlett Johansson files for Divorce

Ryan Reynolds, 34, and Scarlett Johansson, 26, pictured, have made their breakup official by filing for divorce in Los Angeles. Court records show the actors each filed divorce paperwork Thursday, citing irreconcilable differences.

The pair announced the breakup Dec. 14.

They were married in September 2008.

Johansson’s recent credits include “Iron Man 2” and “He’s Just Not That Into You.”
Reynolds appeared opposite Sandra Bullock in “The Proposal” and stars in “Green Lantern,” set for release next year.

Scarlett Johansson Heard “Screaming” On Phone Days Before Divorce

Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds may have been one of the most under-the-radar couples in Hollywood (which is especially amazing when you consider that they’re both A-list actors), but that isn’t stopping the speculation about what led to their shocking divorce announcement.

Us Weekly reports Scarlett was heard arguing on the phone just before her split from Ryan was announced.

Wearing a baseball cap, Johansson looked “miserable,” the observer tells the new Us Weekly.
“She was screaming into her phone, referring to someone as a ‘jerk.’ She looked really pissed off.”

Now, I think it’s important to point that this could be anything. It may have been a work matter, an argument with a friend… who knows?
Yet sources claim Scarlett is the one who was most unhappy in the marriage.

“Scarlett has been unhappy for a while and wanted the separation,” a source tells Us, explaining that the couple’s busy film schedules kept them apart for too long.

I can see long separations taking their toll in a marriage. I’m still sad about this split, though. I’d hoped these two would make it.

Well, it’s official. Ryan Reynolds and Scarlett Johansson have decided to end their two year marriage.

They released a joint statement:

“After long and careful consideration on both our parts, we’ve decided to end our marriage. We entered our relationship with love and it’s with love and kindness we leave it. While privacy isn’t expected, it’s certainly appreciated.”

A source says that the time away from each other is to blame:

“They spent a lot of time apart when they are working…She’s been unhappy for a while.”

I guess the saying is true, where there’s smoke, there’s fire. Sigh. I really loved these two together and hoped the divorce rumors were false. I swear, 2010 is going to be known as THE year for celebrity splits!

Perfect And Almost Perfect- Scarlett Johansson And Emma Watson

Twenty five years ago, when I was in junior high, my friends and I were experimenting with makeup. I wasn't really allowed to wear it to school, but it didn't prevent me from going to town with black eyeliner pencils and that sticky, oily lip gloss that came in roll-on bottles and smelled like teen spirit. My mother was equally horrified by the idea of having a daughter old enough to wear makeup and by the way we used to wear said black liner: on the inner rim and between the lower lashes, creating what she used to call "cow eye" effect (my father was even less polite about it).

Years and many magazine articles later, we all learned how this style actually made our eyes look smaller, and all that black (which also tended to smear and bleed quite a bit. It was cheap 80s drugstore stuff, after all) was too harsh for our young faces. Personally, I realized that given the size and shape of my eyes, I need to keep any and all eye makeup to the top lid.

Lovely Emma Watson (photographed her in the Los Angeles The Tale of Despereaux premiere) was not even born then, so here she is embracing that 80s eyeliner look. Of course, she's so cute and otherwise perfect with her fresh skin and masterfully shaped eyebrows, that she can wear whatever she wants and still look stunning. But her eye makeup does bring me back to those days of early teen angst, pre-crazy Michael Jackson and tight-rolled jeans.



A softer, more classic and completely flawless makeup is what we see on Scarlett Johansson in two recent Nobel Peace Prize events (I'm still not quite sure how and why she was even there, but, hey, eye candy!). I love both the glammed-up evening version and the old Hollywood look. No crazy clown blush or weird wardrobe choices this time. Just perfect.

Eva Mendes: The Good, The Bad And The Inexplicably Orange

I've always liked interesting eyeliner colors. Us, olive skinned non-blondes, can pull off many unorthodox shades because our undertones take the edge of them. Here's Eva Mendes in an electric blue eyeliner. Problem is, she forgot the essential rule of toning down everything else when you go for such a look. This closeup photo shows just as bad the foundation/bronzer/blush situation was.

As a bonus, at the same event, The Spirit launch party, Scarlett Johansson also sports some monster blush (and your great aunt Tilly's couch as a dress). I love the hair color, though.

Not only is the Sex and the City star auctioning off a meet-and-greet to her highly-anticipated SATC movie premiere in May, but a pair of Jimmy Choo shoes will go to the winner as well!

With both of their proceeds benefiting Oxfam America, Davis's celeb auction will begin March 12, the same day that Johansson's ends, and will run through March 22.

And a little FYI to all you high bidders out there, Johansson's auction is up to $38,200!

Spend The Evening With...Scarlett Johansson?

Here's your chance...

The actress is auctioning off two tickets to the premiere of her upcoming film He's Just Not That Into You costaring Jennifer Aniston, Drew Barrymore, and Ben Affleck. The VIP winners will have the chance to spend the evening either in Los Angeles or in New York City with the actress herself at the film's premiere in July.

The auction, being held on eBay, wil benefit the international relief organization Oxfam. Seen in a video on the auction's site, Johannson explains that "One-hundred percent of the proceeds go directly to supporting Oxfam's work."

"So please bid high," she says.

The bidding began at just 99 cents and is currently (thanks to the refresh button) at $300. The auction goes through March 12.

The celebrity blogs have new pictures of them every day and it's interesting to see how they vary their looks and coordinate them from one premier to another. I was going to discuss the above makeup/nail combination from a couple of nights ago, but then I saw this one, and all I can think is: "Seriously?"

Scarlett to visit troops

Scarlett Johansson is going to entertain the troops in the Persian Gulf, the USO has announced. The Match Point actress and director-to-be, 23, plans to tour the region for five days as part of a USO/Army Morale Welfare Recreation entertainment tour, says the organization. While there, she will visit numerous military installations, greet fans, sign autographs and interact with members of the U.S. armed forces. "This USO tour to the Gulf region truly means a lot. I've wanted to go over and visit for some time, and now my moment has arrived," says Johansson – who gets a large supply of fan letters from the military and wanted to do more than just answer them on paper. "It's one thing to reply to a letter or extend your thanks to service members in a speech, but it's another thing to visit them and spend time with those that do so much for us back home," she adds in a statement released by the USO. The USO, which began boosting U.S. troop morale during World War II, has, in 66 years, produced 58 tours and staged 328 special events for men and women in uniform, including performances, autograph sessions, hospital visits and movie screenings, the group says in a press release announcing Johansson's involvement.

Jump the Shark

In the fashion section of Life & Style's new issue (out today and worth looking at. There's a few other interesting articles) there's a story about 80s and 70s inspired jumpsuits and the stars who wear them. While Jamie Lynn Spears is 16 and related to you-know-who, and J. Lo is, well, J-Lo, I expect more than this from the lovely Sarah Michelle Gellar. It's only marginally better than this bright fashion moment Scarlett Johansson had last September:

Scarlett to play Mary, Queen of Scots

Scarlett Johansson will play Mary, Queen of Scots in an upcoming historical epic. Her new role was announced yesterday at Cannes by the film's production company. Mary ruled Scotland from 1542 to 1567 and was famously beheaded at the age of 44 when she set her sights on the throne of England. Producers said the film would see Mary "battle political enemies, scheming allies, and affairs of the heart in her quest to reunite the warring tribes of her native Scotland."

The new couple capped off their weekend with dinner at the Spotted Pig on Sunday night, where an onlooker said, "They honestly did not stop making out the entire night. A girl at the next table told them, 'Would you guys stop making out before I send this to Us Weekly?'" Yesterday afternoon, Reynolds and Johansson were joined by the Scoop star's father at the White Horse Tavern for drinks.
• Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie gave campers enemas for an upcoming episode of The Simple Life. "We did it outside, so that was a lot of fun," Richie said. "It probably wasn't that fun for [the campers], but it was definitely interesting. It was something that I never thought I would do before.
• Sarah Jessica Parker has announced she is launching a second perfume, called Covet.
• MTV has greenlighted a third season of The Hills, set to debut in the summer.

New couple alert: Scarlett and Ryan

Ryan Reynolds has really been making the rounds since his split from longtime girlfriend Alanis Morissette in February. The Van Wilder star seems to be following the dating footsteps of Justin Timberlake by spending the weekend with Scarlett Johansson not long after a rumored fling with Jessica Biel. Reynolds and Johansson were spotted getting cozy at an NYC restaurant on Saturday night. "They were in a good mood," said a fellow diner. "They were definitely holding hands," said another witness. "They were a cute couple!" The new couple also spent Easter Sunday together, arriving at the Carlyle hotel at around 4 p.m. for a late lunch with friends. The group "was having a blast," said an onlooker. "It looked like a group of friends. I don't even think they were celebrating Easter." Reps for both stars have not commented.

No Nanny Diaries until September

The release date for Scarlett Johansson's next film is being pushed back to September reportedly in the hopes that it might be considered for awards nominations. The Nanny Diaries was slated for release next month, but an insider says the new theater date "is a better plan," and that, "It's better for awards consideration." The producers are said to be hoping to land a Golden Globe for Best Comedy.
