‘Blue Valentine’ star Michelle Williams opened up to Marie Claire, even talking about the deceased Heath Ledger. Here’s a quote from the interview:

“Very obviously, for me and for her, there’s a hole in our life.” Michelle Williams says. “Of course the natural inclination is to want to fill it and make it disappear, but what I’ve come to recently is that it’s impossible. Nothing will fit in that hole because what we want back we can’t get, which is this one person. I’m not going to rush anything and scamper around like a mad person and make myself crazy. I’m trying to be respectful of the absence. I’m not trying to fill it up. It is what it is.”

So true. It sounds like Michelle is coping well with her grief.

Michelle Williams might be a very busy single mom, but she can’t imagine life any other way! The actress who can be seen in the upcoming ‘Blue Valentine’ told USA Today that;

“Five years down the road, it’s my new normal. Now I can’t imagine, I don’t even really remember or would want my life previous.
“You make it work. You keep getting out of bed. Sometimes it’s just because you know there’s a cup of coffee downstairs.”

Michelle and former love Heath Ledger had daughter Matilda together, and Michelle admitted that the friends she made when she became a mother really provided her a lot of support after Heath died.

“I loved so much becoming a mom and what had been, to me, this invisible community before that sort of rises up and says, ‘We’re here to help you.’ I was so moved by this new kind of community of people. And then when I became a single mother, there was a smaller but equally powerful community that rose up.

It’s so nice to hear that she had such a strong support group. Single mothers really are amazing and have such a difficult job so it’s nice that she had help! Blue Valentine looks like it’s going to be a really great movie – will you go see it?

I admit it, I was a die hard Dawson’s Creek fan! I was so sad when it ended even though I knew it was time to end because the show had run its course. It seems that Michelle Williams couldn’t wait for it to end though!

The actress who stars in the upcoming Blue Valentine, made an interesting comparison about her role on the show to PopEater;

“I said to a friend being on Dawson’s Creek was kind of like being a mobster,”
“You set up a shop selling pizza but in the back you’re laundering money. You’re doing one thing in plain sight and secretly plotting something else. I was plotting my tastes, my interests, my beliefs and hopes for what I could be.”

Well that certainly is an interesting way to look at it!!  When asked if she had a hard time getting the sort of work she wanted after the show ended she replied;

“Yes, it was hard getting jobs I wanted,”
“I was a pop tart. It took patience and baby steps.”

Well I have to admit I didn’t think she would go on to become the sought after actress that she is today! The fact that she’s had the most big screen success kinda shocked me to be honest. But I really do like her and I’m happy she’s had such a great career after Dawson’s Creek. Blue Valentine just got their NC-17 rating overturned, will you go see it?

Michelle Williams And Ryan Gosling Promote ‘Blue Valentine’

Michelle Williams and Ryan Gosling, along with the supporting cast, were out promoting ‘Blue Valentine’ last night. The movie sounds like it’s actually pretty good, but if it can’t get its NC-17 rating reduced to an R, most of us won’t get a chance to see it!

Hopefully they’ll win their appeal with the MPAA board (which rates movies).


Michelle and Ryan really seem to have bonded, don’t they? Look at how they’re smiling at each other on the red carpet in a couple of the thumbnails below . I have to note, though, that they’ve denied being anything more than friends.

UPDATE: According to Deadline Hollywood, Harvey Weinstein won the appeal to have the rating reduced to R!

Kate Winslet & Michelle Williams- Blonde & blonder

There's something about this photo of Michelle Williams and Kate Williams at the Blue Valentine premiere earlier this week. Both of them are not only beautiful but also have so much expression in their faces and eyes. Still, I'm not sure how I feel about Michelle's platinum blond shade- doesn't it make her look older than she is (Kate Winslet is 35 while Michelle Williams is 30)?

Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams play a married couple with issues in Blue Valentine.

But appearing at the Cannes Film Festival to promote the indie drama, the pair's offscreen chemistry was so undeniable that it's sparked intense speculationg among festivalgoers whether the two are an item in real life.

For now at least, Gosling and Williams are sticking to the we're-just-good-friends-with-a-movie-to-promote company line, even as they stole more than a few embarrassed glances at one another during a discussion of their film at the American Pavilion as the discussion turned toward dog poop and naked shower scenes.

"I had a hard time with it," said Williams. "I probably would go dead crazy telling [director] Derek [CianFrance] for six weeks why the script wouldn't work and why it couldn't play and I think my big dilemma was why, what's the event, what's the catalyst for this couple coming apart."

Gosling says he and Williams explored many of those issues in a pre-shoot rehearsal period, allowing them to at least pretend they were a real couple.

"Derek happen to set it up in a way so that we were living in a house for a month...and given a budget, including $200 for cigarettes. And I haven't smoked a cigarette since," said Gosling to laughter. He plays Dean, a chain-smoking furniture mover who falls for Williams' aspiring nurse, Cindy.

The actors, who have been pals since costarring in 2003's The United States of Leland, spent a month living together, getting all Method to make their characters convincing.

"For me, I discovered that it wasn't one event that caused me to hate this guy," said Williams of her alter ego's development.

While they may or may not be together in real life, Williams and Gosling have had no problem sharing embraces, getting all touchy-feely earlier this week at the Blue Valentine after-party on the roof deck of the Palais Stephanie Hotel.

Michelle Williams is stunning as she returns to the public eye! Seen on the red carpet with her usual gracious smile, the actress is in Cannes promoting her two films Wendy and Lisa as well as Synecdoche, New York. This is her her first big appearance since Heath Ledger's death.

Heath's "Secret Struggles" Revealed in US Weekly

The new US Weekly's cover story features quotes from a "close" source/pal/confidant close to Heath Ledger and Michelle Williams. According to the article, Williams was heartbroken throughout their three year relationship by her boyfriend's abuse of alcohol and drugs, including heroine, cocaine, and unidentified pills.

The article also claims that Williams took Ledger to Promises Treatment Center in California in early 2006, but that he refused to enter, and swore he would change and clean up his act.

Two separate sources also told US Weekly that after their split, Williams insisted that Ledger be drug-tested before his visitations with their 2-year-old daughter Matilda.

Heath hints at a marriage

Heath Ledger once again dodged questions about whether he and his baby mama Michelle Williams have tied the knot in a brief interview with Newsweek, though his responses lean towards a positive answer.

Are the reports true that you and Michelle Williams got married? "We try not to talk about it, to keep it our own kind of thing. It's obviously very sacred. People write stories regardless. The stories haven't necessarily been bad. So we're letting people run with their assumptions."

It's not like people won't eventually find out. "That's right."

And yet, how will we ever know for sure if you never say anything? "They take photos of us wearing our wedding rings."

I've seen those photos. So I take it that you are married. "You can write whatever you wish."

Why don't you just make the announcement now and get it over with? "We're not ones to announce."

As the Joker in the new Batman movie, have you tried on the mask yet? "Metaphorically, yes. I've been bouncing around like a lunatic for four months. I definitely have a different take on him, but I've yet to do a proper makeup run. It's on the agenda."

Do you walk around the house all day practicing your laugh? "I'd be lying if I said I haven't been."
